The name and the story of St. Simeon go on living, as ruins of the contructions that were raised around his pillar. In its time the Qalaat Semaan Church was the biggest in the world. But out of the pillar there is only a fragment left; probably consumed by the holy urine and faeces, like statues of other famous men suffer from corrosive pigeon excrements.
